ATLANTA (July 2, 2014) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) announced that Stacy E. Yeung, an associate in the New York office, has been named to Lawyers of Color’s 2014 Hot List and will be profiled in the publication’s July issue. The Hot List recognizes junior and mid-level attorneys who have achieved prominence and distinction in their fields and who have demonstrated a commitment to advancing diversity in the legal profession.
The honorees were selected by a committee comprised of editorial staff, fellows and advisers. The committee reviewed nominations and researched legal publications in order to identify promising candidates. Additionally, the committee made selections based on attorneys who had noteworthy accomplishments, giving special attention to candidates who were active in diversity pipeline initiatives.
“I’m honored to be selected to this distinguished group of my peers,” Yeung said. “I hope we can continue to make a positive impact on our communities.”
At SGR, Yeung focuses on representing domestic and foreign clients in disputes in the areas of advertising and marketing of healthcare, food and other consumer products, as well as aviation, bankruptcy, intellectual property, insurance law, and other commercial matters. Before entering private practice, she served as assistant attorney general for the Missouri Attorney General’s Office. A member of the New York City Bar Association, Yeung recently completed serving a three-year term on the Committee for Minorities in the Profession. She is also the current treasurer for the Southern District of New York Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and will be vice president beginning this fall.
