Smith, Gambrell & Russell Welcomes 5 New Attorneys

ATLANTA (April 12, 2016) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) is pleased to announce the addition of five new attorneys to the firm: Thomas Backes, Michael Glanzman, Jon E. Linder, Terra Martin, and Matthew Moore.

“Smith, Gambrell & Russell is thrilled to welcome new associates to the firm,” said Stephen Forte, SGR’s managing partner. “Each brings a unique skill set that will enhance SGR’s already well-established practices.”

Mr. Backes is an Associate in SGR’s Atlanta Intellectual Property Practice with an emphasis on patent prosecution and aiding clients in enforcing their intellectual property rights. He received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, an M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, an M.S. in Industrial Engineering, and an MBA from Georgia Institute of Technology. He earned his J.D. from The John Marshall Law School. Mr. Backes is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology and was a recipient of the NASA GSRP fellowship.

Mr. Glanzman is an Associate in SGR’s New York Litigation Practice with a focus in the areas of construction contracting and commercial litigation. He received his B.B.A. from James Madison University in 2004 and earned his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2010 where he was a Human Rights Clinic participant.

Mr. Linder is an Associate in SGR’s New York Real Estate Practice where he focuses on the purchase and sale of residential and commercial properties, among all other aspects of real estate transactions. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Miami and earned his J.D. from Yeshiva University’s Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.

Ms. Martin is Counsel in the Jacksonville Immigration Practice of SGR. She focuses her practice on employment-based immigration law. She assists employers with non-immigrant and immigrant status for foreign workers, including H-1B, L1-A, L1-B, TN, E-2, J-1, EB-1, EB-2, and EB-3 petitions. Ms. Martin received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Illinois and her J.D. from Indiana University-Indianapolis.

Mr. Moore is an Associate in SGR’s Atlanta Real Estate Practice where he represents lenders and developers in commercial real estate lending transactions and general real estate sale, purchase, and leasing transactions. He received both his B.A. and J.D. degrees from Vanderbilt University.
