ATLANTA (June 8, 2022) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) is pleased to announce that the Firm has been recognized by The American Lawyer as a 2022 Am Law 200 firm for the eighth consecutive year. Once again, SGR improved its standing on the list, as a result of the Firm’s strategic growth. SGR was one of 38 firms in the “Second Hundred” to post a double-digit increase in gross revenue.

The Am Law 200, a ranking of the 200 highest-grossing law firms in the United States, is reported by ALM business of law journalists and researchers. The list is published annually with a first portion, the Am Law 100, followed by the “Second Hundred” comprised of the firms ranked 101-200.

“SGR is very pleased to see our steady rise on the Am Law 200 list after finishing another strong financial year with significant gains in revenue and profit in 2021,” said Stephen M. Forte, SGR’s chairman and managing partner. “The Firm’s strong financial performance is reflective of our deepening focus on client service in meeting the demands of the marketplace.”

After solid performance in 2020, SGR continued its strategic growth in 2021 which included the relocation of the Atlanta headquarters office in Midtown, a refreshed logo, the announcement of a combination with one of Atlanta’s premier law firms, Rogers & Hardin, and the launch of an eighth domestic office in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Further expanding into 2022, in March SGR announced the opening of a ninth U.S. office located in Chicago through a combination with local business litigation law firm, Figliulo & Silverman. SGR now operates 11 offices throughout the U.S. and abroad and has grown its headcount to more than 270 attorneys.
