ATLANTA (November 11, 2019) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) is pleased to announce that in honor of October Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the firm raised more than $3,000 for five charitable causes. On Friday, October 25, SGR held its “Jeans for a Cause” employee event in which five local offices participated by permitting its attorneys and staff to wear jeans in exchange for a charitable donation.
Five of SGR’s offices selected a charity in which to donate the funds collected. The Atlanta office raised $1,550 for Susan G. Komen of Greater Atlanta, the world’s leading nonprofit breast cancer organization. The New York office raised $700 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, which provides critical funding for cancer research worldwide. The Jacksonville office raised nearly $400 for The Donna Foundation, which provides financial assistance and support to those living with breast cancer and funds ground breaking breast cancer research. The Washington, D.C. office raised nearly $300 toward The Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adult Scholarship. And SGR’s Los Angeles office also supported by raising $200 for its charity of choice, Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, which provides pediatric health care through the generosity of philanthropists in the community.
