Smith, Gambrell & Russell Expands Its Immigration Practice

ATLANTA (August 4, 2015) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) announced today that Susie Kim has joined the immigration practice as a partner in the firm’s New York office.

“We are thrilled to welcome Susie and her group to the firm,” said Stephen Forte, SGR’s managing partner. “The addition of Susie spreads our business immigration practice to the dynamic New York market and greatly enhances our relationships with major Korean businesses worldwide. Our international practitioners all view this as a significant step forward for SGR.”

Kim advises business clients in a wide range of legal matters that arise during the course of international business’s establishment, cross-border entry and growth in the United States. She assists clients, ranging in size from international Fortune 500 companies to emerging companies as well as small and mid-size start-ups, in connection with the temporary employment of professionals, executives and intra-company transfers. Kim has significant experience representing international artists, athletes, entertainers, musicians, scientists and researchers entering the United States for professional work, events and performances. In addition to her business clients, she also has particular experience in advising on issues that are uniquely relevant to high net-worth individuals, such as multinational families with US citizen and non-citizen family members with property and assets in more than one country.

Kim currently serves as advisory counsel to the Korean Consulate General in New York and serves on the overseas board of directors for the International Association of Korean Lawyers. She received her Juris Doctor from New York Law School and her Bachelor of Arts from Bernard M. Baruch College.
