Smith, Gambrell & Russell Expands Entertainment, Arts and Sports Practice

ATLANTA (April 29, 2015) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) announced today Carolyn Herman has joined as counsel in the firm’s Jacksonville, Fla. office.

“Carolyn is a highly regarded practitioner in the entertainment sector,” said Stephen Forte, SGR’s managing partner. “She will add depth to this practice area so we can be even more responsive to the needs of our clients.”

Herman has represented film producers, record labels, music and literary publishers, musicians, models, agents, authors, artists and illustrators, and other content providers for over 20 years in all aspects of entertainment law. She is currently a member of Jacksonville’s Film Advisory board, is the founder of the Independent Film and the Law seminar held in conjunction with the Jacksonville Film Festival, and has participated as a panel member at numerous entertainment law seminars around the United States and the Caribbean. Additionally, Herman serves as a pro bono mediator for Jacksonville’s small claims court and pro bono counsel for the Beaches Hospitality Network. She previously taught entertainment law, intellectual property, and advanced copyright and trademark courses at Florida Coastal School of Law. Herman earned her Bachelor of Science from Cornell University, her Juris Doctor from Fordham Law School, and her Master of Laws from George Washington University Law School.
