ATLANTA (January 12, 2015) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) is pleased to announce the addition of Lisa R. Carrasco and Benjamin A. Gorelick to its partnership effective January 1, 2015.

Ms. Carrasco is located in the firm’s Jacksonville, Fla. office. Her practice focuses on employee benefits, compensation and ERISA. She has been recognized for exceptional pro bono service by the Supreme Court of Florida and the Young Lawyers Division of the Florida Bar, in conjunction with the Jacksonville Area Legal Aid, Inc. Ms. Carrasco serves on the Board of Directors of the Children’s Home Society of Florida, Buckner Division. Additionally, she is a member of United Way of Northeast Florida’s Young Professionals group, Atlantic Circle and Women in Local Leadership. Ms. Carrasco received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida, her Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law and her Master of Laws in taxation and a certificate of study in employee benefits law from Georgetown University Law Center.
Mr. Gorelick is located in the firm’s New York office and practices in the area of transactional real estate. He regularly represents investors, developers and individuals as they finance, develop, and lease residential and commercial property. Mr. Gorelick serves on the board for Playworks of Greater Newark/Greater New York, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of children by increasing opportunities for physical activity and safe, meaningful playtime. Mr. Gorelick received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland and his Juris Doctor from New England School of Law – Boston.
