Smith Gambrell Russell Elects 6 Attorneys to the Firm’s Partnership

ATLANTA (January 1, 2024) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) is pleased to announce the addition of Jason P. Blair, Sarah A. Gottlieb, Heiko Gruenwald, Daniel Q. Horner, Christopher J. Raymond, and Ryan Varnum to its partnership effective January 1, 2024.

“SGR is pleased to announce the elevation of six deserving attorneys to partner in 2024,” said Stephen M. Forte, SGR’s chairman and managing partner. “They have each contributed significantly within their respective practice areas, and we look forward to their continued success with the Firm.”

Jason Blair is a partner in the Intellectual Property Practice in SGR’s Austin and Washington, D.C. offices Mr. Blair handles a wide variety of intellectual property matters, with an emphasis on trademark, trade dress, and copyright issues.

Sarah Gottlieb is a partner in the Firm’s Intellectual Property Practice in Tampa. Ms. Gottlieb focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation, representing clients in connection with contract, trade secret, copyright, trademark infringement, patent, and business tort litigation.

Heiko Gruenwald is a partner in the Atlanta Corporate and International practices. Mr. Gruenwald focuses his practice on European-American cross-border issues, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate governance, corporate structuring, and the preparation and negotiation of related agreements.

Dan Horner is a partner in the Firm’s New York Construction and Litigation practices. Mr. Horner represents a variety of clients including property owners, developers, construction managers, general contractors, and subcontractors on issues arising from all phases of construction projects from contract drafting to litigation of disputes.

Chris Raymond is a partner in the Corporate and Global Transport practices in Atlanta. Mr. Raymond’s practice focuses on commercial and corporate aviation, including contract preparation and negotiation and FAA regulatory advice and compliance. He represents sellers, purchasers, financing sources and others in connection with the sale, purchase, exchange, lease and financing of aircraft.

Ryan Varnum is a partner in SGR’s Washington, D.C. Intellectual Property Practice. Mr. Varnum counsels clients in all aspects of patent law, including drafting and prosecuting patent applications to procure patent protection, providing patent assessments, and serving as counsel in post-grant patent challenges, federal circuit litigation and proceedings before the International Trade Commission.
