Smith, Gambrell & Russell Bolsters Labor and Employment and Executive Compensation and Employee Benefits Practices in its Jacksonville Office

ATLANTA (November 16, 2015) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) announced today that it has added four new associates in its Jacksonville office. Lance Davies, Ian Jones and Jennifer Pruden have joined the firm’s labor and employment practice, and Quinn Baker has joined the firm’s executive compensation and employee benefits practice.

Quinn D. Baker’s practice focuses on a variety of employee benefit issues, including drafting and reviewing compliance on qualified plans and welfare plans. He also handles matters related to deferred and executive compensation, specifically compliance with Section 409A of the Internal Revenue Code. Additionally, Baker has experience navigating the complex rules and requirements of the Affordable Care Act as applied to health plans and plan sponsors. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Wake Forest University, his Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University and his Master of Laws in taxation and employee benefits from Georgetown University Law Center.

Lance T. Davies assists clients in all aspects of labor and employment matters. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Brigham Young University and his Juris Doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law.

Ian M. Jones assists clients in a wide range of state and federal matters. He has participated in the litigation of claims under federal law including the Fair Labor Standards Act, Title VII of the Civil rights Act of 1964 as well as California, New York and New Jersey state law. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Franklin and Marshall College and his Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law.

Jennifer P. Lawson defends employers in disputes regarding employment discrimination, wage and hour compensation, and unfair labor practices.  Additionally, Pruden provides counsel to employers on issues such as employee handbooks, employment contracts, and non-competition agreements. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Florida State University and her Juris Doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law.
