ATLANTA (June 4, 2019) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) is pleased to announce that the firm has been recognized by The American Lawyer as a 2019 Am Law 200 firm for the fifth year in a row. Once again, SGR improved its standing on the list, advancing six spots from 2018, as a result of the firm’s continuing growth and increase in revenue. SGR is one of only four Atlanta-based firms that placed in the “Am Law Second Hundred.”

Ranked by gross revenue, the Am Law 200 is a diverse group of law firms throughout the country that range in size and geographic diversity. These firms represent clients all over the world and specialize in many different practice areas.

“SGR’s continued rise on the Am Law 200 list underscores the firm’s strategic growth initiatives,” said Steve Forte, SGR’s chairman and managing partner. “After a successful year of expansion internationally and in New York in 2017, the firm opened two more offices in 2018, Los Angeles and Miami, which further bolsters our international capabilities.”

As the firm continued to grow in 2018, SGR added more than 30 attorneys across its offices, including January’s combination with a California business law firm that created a 9th office in Los Angeles and the December opening of the firm’s 10th office in Miami that expanded the Global Transport Practice. In addition to strengthening Global Transport, lateral hires announced throughout the year also enhanced the firm’s practices in Private Client Services, Intellectual Property, Corporate, Health Care, Governmental Affairs, Tax, Real Estate, and Construction.
