ATLANTA (November 1, 2023) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) is pleased to announce that Peter Rho has joined the Firm as partner in the Los Angeles office and as head of the Korea Practice. Most recently, Mr. Rho was a shareholder with Buchalter where he was a member of the Corporate Practice and chair of the Korea Practice.
According to Patrick Cain, managing partner of SGR’s Los Angeles office, “Peter helps deepen SGR’s corporate expertise in Los Angeles, and he also will be instrumental in building our Korea Practice across the Firm. That he is personally engaging and enthusiastic makes his addition to our office that much better.”
Mr. Rho has a 25-year career as a deal lawyer, advising U.S. and international clients on domestic and cross-border deals and disputes, corporate law, mergers and acquisitions and outside general counsel matters. In his work as primary outside counsel to public and private companies and entrepreneurs, Mr. Rho serves clients in various sectors, including banking, lending, investment banking, venture capital, finance, technology, entertainment and media, real estate, and general commercial business.
Mr. Rho added, “I am thrilled to join SGR and merge my practice into a global platform with an extensive network of talented legal professionals. I look forward to working with my new colleagues and servicing my clients from SGR’s deep and diverse bench.”
Mr. Rho earned his J.D from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. He received his MBA from Columbia Business School and his B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles. Mr. Rho is a member of the California Bar, as well as the Korean American Bar Association and National Asian Pacific American Bar Association. Additionally, he is board chair and past president of the International Association of Korean Lawyers and a member of the board of directors and former board chair of the KHEIR Center.
