Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) is pleased to announce that Laura Miller Andrew has been appointed chair of the Resource Management Health Committee for the United Way of Northeast Florida. Her two-year term began earlier this month. Previously, Ms. Andrew served as vice chair of the committee.
The Health Committee directs and monitors the investment of Community Impact Fund dollars for health-related programs in Northeast Florida. This includes programs designed to ensure people of all ages maintain healthy nutrition and fitness, receive required hearing and speech services, receive assistance in overcoming barriers to accessing health and wellness services, and preparing the community to respond to disaster and emergencies.
In addition to her appointment, Ms. Andrew is also a member of the Builders Society, which recognizes leadership givers of United Way.
Ms. Andrew is a partner in the executive compensation and employee benefits and health care practices of SGR. She frequently lectures and writes on health care and benefits topics, with a focus on the Affordable Care Act. She received her Bachelor of Business Administration from Mercer University and her Juris Doctor from Emory University.
