ATLANTA (April 10, 2018) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) is pleased to announce the addition of new attorneys to the firm. Globally, SGR has added more than 20 attorneys, including two patent science advisors since announcing its ninth office and combination with California boutique law firm, Rodi Pollock Pettker Christian & Pramov in December. This year marks the firm’s 125th anniversary.
Recently hired attorneys include:
Benjamin S. Lowenthal is an Associate in SGR’s Litigation Practice in Atlanta. His practice includes complex commercial, employment, and environmental litigation and administrative proceedings. He represents clients in all phases of civil litigation, including pretrial, trial, post-trial, and appellate work, while also focusing on pre-litigation strategy development. In addition, he advises clients in connection with corporate and commercial transactions, as well as labor and employment and environmental regulatory compliance and permitting matters.
Ansly P. Moyer is Counsel in the firm’s Bond and Public Finance Practice in Atlanta. Ms. Moyer represents financial institutions, lenders, state and local governmental entities and borrowers in leveraged finance, public finance and other secured and unsecured lending transactions, with a focus on municipal finance transactions, including tax-exempt and taxable financings with a wide range of structures for the benefit of not-for-profit organizations, governmental entities and public and private companies, and on economic incentive transactions.
Christopher J. Raymond is an Associate in SGR’s Atlanta Global Transport Practice. His practice focuses on commercial and corporate aviation, including contract preparation and negotiation and FAA regulatory advice and compliance. He represents sellers, purchasers, financing sources, and others in connection with the sale, purchase, exchange, lease, and financing of aircraft.
Gregory K. Smith is Counsel in the firm’s Atlanta Construction Practice. Mr. Smith practices in all areas of construction law, government procurement, and contract law. His practice consists primarily of dispute resolution and litigation, but also includes counseling in all areas of government procurement, and the drafting, structuring, and review of construction contracts.
SGR has also recently added two patent science advisors to the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice:
Sarah Sharman, Ph. D. is a Patent Science Advisor in SGR’s Intellectual Property Practice in Atlanta. Dr. Sharman is a recent graduate of Augusta University where she received her Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences in the department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. While pursuing her degree, Dr. Sharman’s research focused on the prevention and treatment of colorectal ailments. This research led to two first-authored, peer-reviewed manuscripts and numerous poster presentations at national meetings.
Madhavi Sriram, Ph. D. is a Patent Science Advisor in the firm’s Atlanta Intellectual Property Practice. Dr. Sriram has worked in intellectual property for the past five years including experience drafting and negotiating licenses and other IP related contracts. She has collectively eight years of academic and industry research experience in design and development of organic small-molecule microtubule polymerization inhibitors and Vascular Disrupting Agents (VDAs), and Poly-ADP-Ribose Polymerases (PARP) inhibitors as anti-cancer drugs.
Additionally, since the beginning of the year, SGR has welcomed four experienced attorneys across offices in Global Transport and Intellectual Property. In January, Joshua D. Gentner joined as a Partner in the Global Transport Practice based out of Chicago, along with William F. Long as a Partner in the Atlanta Intellectual Property Practice. Last month, Shani Smith Fisher joined the firm as Counsel in the Global Transport Practice in the Los Angeles office. Most recently, Jonathan C. Russell was hired as a Senior Associate in the firm’s Global Transport Practice based out of the London office.
With the Rodi Pollock combination in Los Angeles, the firm added 11 skilled attorneys within Corporate, Litigation, Labor and Employment and Real Estate which include: Anne K. Edwards, Elizabeth B.
