SGR Snags Two Top-Flight Litigators

Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) announces that Edward C. Konieczny and Patricia J. Hill have joined the firm. Both have joined the litigation department and will offer extensive expertise in their practice areas. Building on the firm’s distinguished litigation practice, these new attorneys will expand the antitrust practice and employment and labor practice respectively. Ed Konieczny will practice at SGR’s headquarters in Atlanta and Pat Hill joins the firm’s expanding Jacksonville office.

Mr. Konieczny is a member of the Litigation Practice. He has 18 years of complex litigation and law firm management experience in both plaintiffs’ and defense firms. From 1999 to 2006, he served as managing partner of a large, national mass tort and class action plaintiffs’ firm. He is the founder and chairman of the Managing Partners Committee of the Atlanta Bar Association. He is a member of the Georgia and Pennsylvania Bar Associations. He received his bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, from Duke University and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from Harvard University.

Ms. Hill is a member of the Employment and Labor Practice and was recently elected as partner to the firm. She will be working heavily with the Atlanta Employment and Labor group and has a large national practice. She has significant experience and expertise in employment law, which encompasses employment discrimination and litigation, employment contracts, employee handbooks and policies, termination and separations, hiring practices, wage and hour issues and unemployment compensation. She also negotiates labor contracts, trains employers in union avoidance and handles unfair labor practice charges and union campaigns. Ms. Hill is a member of the Illinois, Georgia and Florida Bar Associations. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin and her J.D. degree from Illinois Institute of Technology — Chicago Kent College of Law.
