ATLANTA (September 21, 2006) — Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) partner Don Mitchell represented Frontier Airlines in its recently announced agreement with Bombardier Inc. to purchase ten Q400 turboprop aircraft with the option of purchasing ten more. Attorneys Paul Zampol and Monica Richey assisted.
The company will operate the new 74-seat aircraft in a newly formed subsidiary that will expand Frontier’s low-fare service to markets in Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region. “With our team’s strong industry experience and commercial awareness, we helped Frontier conclude this transaction in record time,” Mitchell said. “Frontier runs an efficient airline. We needed to be equally efficient in order to meet Frontier’s schedule for launch of the new operation.”
The first Q400 is scheduled for delivery to Frontier in May 2007 and deliveries will continue throughout the year. Deliveries of the option aircraft, if exercised, begin in March 2008.
