SGR Attorneys Elected to Partnership

ATLANTA (January 2, 2013) –Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP is pleased to announce the addition of four attorneys to its partnership, effective January 1, 2013: Jonathan Kline, Simone von Werden Kraus, David A. Mobley and Wm. Parker Sanders.

The new partners are:

Jonathan Kline — Mr. Kline, a litigator in the firm’s New York office, devotes a substantial portion of his practice to representing insurers, reinsurers, and insurance brokers. He also represents insurance industry clients in transactional and regulatory matters. Mr. Kline offers additional experience in estate fiduciary litigation, real estate disputes and business disputes. He received his A.B. degree in History from Brown University in 1989 and earned his J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1994. He is admitted to practice in New York and Connecticut. He has served as Counsel at the firm since 2010.

Simone von Werden Kraus — Ms. Kraus, a member of the firm’s International Law Practice in Atlanta, offers expertise in German, Spanish and European Economic Community Law. Ms. Kraus received a J.D. degree from the University of Freiburg School of Law, West Germany in 1978. She also studied law in the United States, receiving a Master of Law degree in 1984, and was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 1986. Ms. Kraus is also admitted to practice in Germany and Spain. She has been with the firm since 1990, where she previously served as Counsel.

David A. Mobley — Mr. Mobley is a litigator in the firm’s Atlanta office and focuses his practice on Commercial Litigation. He is a principal member of the firm’s Banking Litigation and Product Liability teams. Prior to law school he worked in the infrastructure, construction and development industry and also worked for several years as a construction litigator. Mr. Mobley joined SGR in 2007 and served as both Associate and Counsel prior to becoming partner. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn University, and earned his J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from The University of Alabama. He is admitted to practice in Florida and Georgia.

Wm. Parker Sanders — Mr. Sanders, a member of the firm’s Litigation Practice in the Atlanta office, offers experience in complex business litigation with a focus on disputes involving antitrust, trade regulation, and False Claims Act issues. Mr. Sanders received a B.A. in Economics, cum laude, from the University of the South in 2000. In 2003, he received his J.D., cum laude, from Tulane Law School. He is admitted to practice in Georgia and has been with the firm since 2003, where he previously served as an Associate.
