SGR Attorney Recipient of S. Austin Peele Distinguished Trustee Award

{photo1-left} JACKSONVILLE (May 30, 2012) — Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP Partner Andrew J. Fawbush is the recipient of the inaugural S. Austin Peele Distinguished Trustee Award in recognition of his service and dedication as a University of Florida Levin College of Law Trustee.

Fawbush’s practice at Smith, Gambrell & Russell focuses on employee benefits and executive compensation, including fiduciary issues, qualified and non-qualified plans, executive compensation, welfare benefit plans, and corporate governance involving compensation and benefits issues.

In addition to being a University of Florida alumnus, Fawbush is President of the University Athletic Association, Inc. (UAA) Board of Directors for the University of Florida (2011-2012 fiscal year) and is a past President and member of the Board of Trustees for the University of Florida Alumni Association.

The University of Florida Law Center Association, Inc. (LCA) was formed in 1960 as a financial support organization for the College of Law. The LCA Board of Trustees assists in the budgetary process, provides financial and volunteer resources and facilitates student mentoring programs. Unrestricted monies provided through the LCA and its Board of Trustees help fund a number of student and faculty programs, scholarships and activities.
