JACKSONVILLE (October 17, 2011) — Smith, Gambrell & Russell attorney Andrew Fawbush has been elected to serve as President of the University Athletic Association, Inc. (UAA) Board of Directors for the University of Florida during the 2011-2012 fiscal year.

Fawbush’s practice at Smith, Gambrell & Russell focuses on employee benefits and executive compensation, including fiduciary issues, qualified and non-qualified plans, executive compensation, welfare benefit plans, and corporate governance involving compensation and benefits issues. In addition to being a University of Florida alumnus, Fawbush serves on the LCA Board of Trustees for the University of Florida Levin College of Law and is a past President and member of the Board of Trustees for the University of Florida Alumni Association.

The University Athletic Association, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation, is a direct support organization of the University of Florida (UF). The Association exists to advance UF’s teaching, research and service missions throughout the intercollegiate athletics program. The Association was founded in 1904 and incorporated in 1929.
