ATLANTA (April 3, 2008) — Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP attorney Steve O’Day was a panelist at “LEED or Follow: Sustainability,” hosted by Atlanta Business magazine on March 20, 2008. Held at Georgia Tech, the seminar focused on the importance of going green and being LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified.

The moderator was CBS Channel 46 reporter Adam Murphy. Panelists included Mark Norman, President and COO of Zipcar and Jim Nicolow, Director of Sustainable Development with Lord, Aeck & Sargent Architecture.

Mr. O’Day is the partner in charge of the Environmental Law Section and the Sustainability Practice Group at SGR. Mr. O’Day’s precedent-setting Environmental court cases have earned him the title Upper Chattahoochee Riverkeeper’s River Guardian. He was also awarded with the Southern Environmental Law Clinic’s James S. Dockery, Jr. Southern Environmental Leadership Award. Mr. O’Day received his B.A. degree from Furman University and his J.D. from Harvard University.
