SGR Hires Four Senior-Level Attorneys

ATLANTA (March 25, 2008) — Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP welcomes four new attorneys to its three U.S. offices. Damon Pike and Walter Hinton have joined as Counsel in the Atlanta office, Tom Jackson has joined as partner in the Washington, D.C. office and Scot Elder has joined as Counsel in the Jacksonville office.

Mr. Pike joins SGR’s International Practice from his solo practice at The Pike Law Firm. He has significant expertise in International Trade and Customs having consulted on international taxation for many years as a partner with Deloitte & Touche. He was appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce to serve on the Exporters’ Textile Advisory Committee, where he was a member until 2006. Mr. Pike received his A.B. degree from Duke University and his J.D. from Wake Forest University.

Mr. Hinton is Counsel in the Firm’s Air Transport Industry Group. Mr. Hinton joins SGR from his solo practice in South Carolina. He regularly handles matters such as the financing, leasing, sale and disposition of aircraft. Mr. Hinton received his A.B. from Dartmouth College and his J.D. from Northwestern University.

Mr. Jackson joins SGR’s Intellectual Property Practice. He has written and prosecuted hundreds of patents. He previously served as in-house patent counsel Siemens AG and AT&T Bell Laboratories. Mr. Jackson received his B.S. from the University of Pennsylvania and his J.D. from Seton Hall University.

Mr. Elder is a member of the Firm’s Litigation Practice. He was previously Chief Litigation Counsel for the Firm’s client The St. Joe Company. Mr. Elder focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation and has experience in real estate litigation, securities claims, insurance and international litigation. Mr. Elder received his B.A. from the University of Utah and his J.D. from the University of California at Los Angeles.
