William Herbert Appointed as Vice Chair of Asia/Pacific Committee

ATLANTA (July 18, 2007) — Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP attorney William Herbert was recently appointed as Vice Chair of the Asia/Pacific Committee of the American Bar Association Section of International Law. Mr. Herbert was also selected to be this year’s editor for the Asia/Pacific Committee’s annual article in The International Lawyer.

The Asia/Pacific Committee focuses on bringing together attorneys and other legal professionals who have an interest in the region. There are 464 members who are committed to developing awareness of issues within the region, reviewing legal matters in the region, meeting other attorneys who have a common interest in Asia/Pacific affairs and sponsoring programs on legal topics within the region.

Will Herbert is Counsel in the International Section of SGR. Mr. Herbert works with Japanese clients who are looking to do business in the United States. He spent 10 years living and working in Japan. He speaks, writes and reads Japanese. Mr. Herbert received his B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Washington as well as earned his LL.M. degree in Asian and Comparative Law.
