Nereus Compressed Air System

SGR remains at the forefront of working with innovative companies in the sustainability and energy areas. One such company is BlueWave Energy, which has designed the “Nereus Compressed Air System,” a system that can produce energy from naturally compressed gases found in underground structures (such as natural gas deposits, undersea gas deposits, natural gas pipelines and abandoned oil and gas wells). The system produces and stores energy in the form of compressed gases, and releases that energy by cycling a buoyant vehicle in water. The system can also use geothermal or industrial waste heat to compress gas and produce electricity for consumption. SGR has worked with BlueWave Energy on its intellectual property work, including writing the patent application for the system.
