Building Green … Required by Law

Over the past several years, owners have required that the design and construction management firms they retain have the expertise to build green. Now, a growing trend calls for design and CM firms to become even more proficient in the delivery of green buildings.

In a recent newsletter of the Construction Management Association of America, Mark de St. Aubin discusses how green building is becoming the law, and how this trend may soon hit Atlanta. His article, “Building Green … Required by Law,” discusses and evaluates the Atlanta Sustainable Building Ordinance, as well as explores the debate over an inventive-based approach versus a compliance-based approach versus a performance-based approach. For more information about green building and how it may impact your business, please contact Mark de St. Aubin, Stephen E. O’Day or John Bailey.
