Karen Ibach Bowden is Counsel in the Corporate Practice of Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP.
Ms. Bowden is an experienced transactional lawyer and litigator who provides strategic, business-oriented, and proactive legal advice and support to her clients. Ms. Bowden has practiced law for over twenty-five years in a wide range of areas, including employment law, litigation, real estate, contracts, business, and commercial lending. Prior to joining SGR, she was a shareholder at a large regional law firm, senior counsel of a Jacksonville civil litigation firm, and associate general counsel for a national non-profit health care organization.
Ms. Bowden provides general counsel services to clients on a wide range of matters that include employment law and personnel issues, business formation and governance, mergers and acquisitions, contract negotiations, real estate, compliance, risk management, and general business advice.
The oldest of five children, Ms. Bowden grew up in Jacksonville and is a graduate of The Bolles School. She attended Smith College, graduated cum laude from Tulane University, and then earned her law degree, with honors, from the University of Florida.
Ms. Bowden currently is Chair of the Board of Directors of Rethreaded, Inc., a nonprofit organization that employs human trafficking survivors and provides time, space, and support for their healing through a holistic program, counseling and community. In her free time, Ms. Bowden enjoys traveling, walking on the beach, reading, and spending time with her husband, family, and friends.
