Eli Awbrey
Associate / Atlanta-
Full Bio
Eli Awbrey focuses his practice on a variety of commercial real estate transactions, including the acquisition, development, financing, leasing, and disposition of real estate. He represents real estate owners, investors, developers, advisors, real estate investment trusts (REITs), timber investment management organizations (TIMOs), and institutional lenders in transactions across all major U.S. markets.
In addition to a broad real estate practice, Eli has years of experience representing property owners and public entities in eminent domain and condemnation matters, bringing a dual perspective shaped by experience on both sides of the table. Eli has handled the full lifecycle of condemnation cases—from pre-litigation negotiations through mediations, special master hearings or jury trials—and also advised Fortune 50 retailers and regional property owners on condemnation exposure across multi-state portfolios, helping them anticipate and navigate potential impacts before proceedings begin.
Eli earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law. During law school, he served as a notes editor for the Georgia Law Review. Eli also was a judicial intern for Justice Charlie J. Bethel of the Supreme Court of Georgia, Judge Richard W. Story of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, and Judge Julie E. Carnes of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
