ATLANTA (October 15, 2021) – Smith Gambrell Russell (SGR) is pleased to announce that Jacksonville attorney Dion Bass has been selected to the Leadership Jacksonville Class of 2022, the city’s foremost leadership think tank. Leadership Jacksonville is a yearlong program that challenges adult leaders from diverse sectors of the community to develop a heightened understanding of the community’s key issues and how they can work together to improve them. Since the first class in 1976-1977, more than 2300 alumni have completed the program.
The Leadership Jacksonville organization educates established and emerging leaders about the community’s key issues, connects program participants with a vibrant and diverse network of leaders and community partners, and inspires participants to build and strengthen their communities. The Leadership Jacksonville program is one of four of the major programs conducted each year by the organization. Prior to his selection to the Leadership Jacksonville Class of 2022, Mr. Bass participated in Leadership Jacksonville’s Next Generation Program.
As a member of the Leadership Jacksonville Class of 2022, Mr. Bass is among 56 community leaders who were selected in the course of a competitive nomination, application, and interview process. During the yearlong program, the class learns about the First Coast community and builds relationships with other leaders in order to better serve as ethical community leaders.
Mr. Bass is an associate with SGR’s Jacksonville office. He focuses his practice on insurance defense, medical and professional liability defense, trucking litigation, employment disputes, and product liability defense. Mr. Bass was previously included in The National Black Lawyers Top 40 Under 40, Class of 2019. He is also recognized by Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch for his work in Insurance Law, Medical Malpractice Law (Defendants), and Personal Injury Litigation (Defendants) for 2022. Outside the office, Mr. Bass has been recognized by Jacksonville Area Legal Aid for his commitment to providing pro bono legal services. He is a member of the Florida Bar and the Jacksonville Bar Associations.
