Women Looking Ahead News Magazine Honors SGR’s Aasia Mustakeem

ATLANTA (April 25, 2011) — Aasia Mustakeem, a partner in the Atlanta office of Smith, Gambrell & Russell, will be presented with a Women Looking Ahead News Magazine’s Law and Justice Award on April 30, 2011.

Women Looking Ahead News Magazine’s Law and Justice Award is given annually to attorneys who have devoted their careers to serving the public interest and acting as catalysts for positive change within their communities. The award ceremony will feature former Georgia Supreme Court Chief Justice Leah Ward Sears as the keynote speaker.

Ms. Mustakeem, whose practice focuses on commercial real estate, represents developers, purchasers and sellers in connection with acquisition, disposition and development of office, hotel, retail, industrial and mixed-use projects. She is a member of several boards, including the Grady Memorial Hospital Corporation, ZooAtlanta, the Georgia Bar Foundation and the Real Estate Executive Council (REEC). Ms. Mustakeem is a member of Leadership Atlanta, Leadership CREW and a Fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers. In 2010, Ms. Mustakeem received the Commitment to Equality Award presented by the Women in the Professions Committee of the State Bar of Georgia. She also received the Outstanding Woman in the Profession Achievement Award from the Atlanta Bar Association in 2003 and the Trailblazer Award presented by the BLSA at Georgia State University College of Law in 2009.
