JACKSONVILLE (October 8, 2010) — Smith, Gambrell & Russell attorney Andrew Fawbush has been appointed to the University Athletic Association, Inc. (UAA) Board of Directors for the University of Florida by its president, J. Bernard Machen.

Fawbush’s practice at Smith, Gambrell & Russell focuses on employee benefits and executive compensation, including fiduciary issues, qualified and non-qualified plans, executive compensation, welfare benefit plans, and corporate governance involving compensation and benefits issues. In addition to being a University of Florida alumnus, Fawbush has served on the Board of Trustees for the University of Florida Levin College of Law and for the University of Florida Alumni Association.

The University Athletic Association, Inc. is a nonprofit corporation responsible for maintaining the intercollegiate athletic program for the University of Florida Gators. Founded in 1904 and incorporated in 1929, the UAA reports to the University of Florida Board of Trustees.
