Jeremy D. Schara is an Associate in the Firm’s Global Transport Practice.
Mr. Schara’s practice primarily focuses on the purchase, sale, leasing and financing of aircraft and aircraft engines. He has negotiated and drafted leases on behalf of lessors and lessees and has advised lessors, lessees and lenders with respect to asset-based financings. Mr. Schara was previously seconded to an aircraft lessor where he gained invaluable commercial experience with respect to lessor and lessee business operations.
Mr. Schara previously interned at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in the Division of Enforcement where he assisted in the prosecution of individuals for securities fraud and insider trading. He also served as a judicial intern at the Chambers of the Honorable C. Stephen Hackeling in the District Court of Suffolk County in New York.
Mr. Schara received his undergraduate degree from Stony Brook University and earned his J.D. degree from Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University. While attending law school, he served at the President and Editor-in-Chief of the Hofstra Law Moot Court Board. Additionally, he has been published in the Hofstra Law Review and received the Hofstra Law Review Alumni Writing Award for his note: “Knowledge is Salvation: Informing Investors by Regulating Disclosures to Safeguard Best Execution.”
Prior to attending law school, Mr. Schara enlisted in the United States Navy where he earned numerous awards for his leadership and supervision of the anti-submarine warfare operations onboard USS Kidd (DDG 100).
