Mr. Trowell has experience in class actions, insurance, complex commercial and securities litigation. Some of his representative areas of practice include defense of class actions on behalf of insurers, banks, business entities, and management for alleged improper market conduct or business practices. Mr. Trowell’s litigation practice also involves handling and managing volume litigation tied to pending and potential class action issues. This includes counseling insurers on claims handling practices, development of fraud prevention and prosecution of affirmative actions to recover insurance company claims payments from providers and persons involved in systemic fraud schemes.
Mr. Trowell also has experience defending against alleged violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Florida Consumer Protection Collection Practices Act. His experience includes proposed class actions and individual actions.
Mr. Trowell has been recognized by Florida Super Lawyers Magazine as a “Florida Rising Star” from 2009 – 2017. He was also named an “Up & Comer” by Florida Trend Magazine in 2007 and 2012. Mr. Trowell is a member of the Florida Bar, Jacksonville Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Federal Bar Association.
Mr. Trowell received his B.S.B.A. from University of Florida, with honors, in 2000, and his M.B.A. from Stetson University in 2003. He earned his J.D. from the Stetson University College of Law, cum laude, in 2003.
He is admitted to practice in Florida and the U.S. District Court for the Middle, Southern, and Northern Districts of Florida.
