Alessandra E. Ferrero is an Associate in the Corporate Practice of Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP.
Ms. Ferrero represents domestic and international clients in a wide variety of corporate and transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, aviation financing, renewable energy power purchase transactions, sports law, health care, and general corporate representation. Her aviation work primarily includes the purchase, sale, leasing, and financing of aircraft and aircraft engines.
Ms. Ferrero earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with an honors concentration, Philosophy with an honors concentration, and Religious Studies from the University of Tennessee, where she graduated summa cum laude and as Top Collegiate Scholar (valedictorian) of the College of Arts and Sciences. She wrote her undergraduate thesis on food waste, food insecurity, and food donation liability. As an undergraduate student, she worked for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and was assigned to Tennessee Football to host and recruit prospective players, review NCAA recruiting regulations, and ensure compliance with such regulations by recruits, their parents, and fellow staffers.
She received her Doctor of Law from Duke University. While in law school, Ms. Ferrero was an articles editor for Law and Contemporary Problems, the Finance Chair for the Sports and Entertainment Law Society, and a member of the Innocence Project. She worked for Duke Football, where she reviewed and evaluated the program’s sports agent contact policy from a legal perspective.
Ms. Ferrero also worked at Byrd Campbell, P.A. and Wasserman, where she reviewed multi-year MLB contracts to identify patterns and formulate contract negotiation strategies, created a database of contract clauses for future reference in contract negotiations, and drafted arbitration briefs.
