Richard J. “Ricky” Delaney’s practice concentrates on representing and advising employers on employment, labor and business issues relating to both litigation and compliance matters.
Mr. Delaney has successfully represented organizations of all sizes before state and federal courts and administrative agencies. Mr. Delaney has also provided guidance to employers to resolve disputes and avoid litigation.
Prior to joining SGR, Mr. Delaney worked at a boutique Jacksonville firm where he handled a variety of civil litigation matters, focusing primarily on labor and employment law and educational law. There, Mr. Delaney assisted organizations with employment issues by representing them before courts and administrative agencies, conducting policy revisions, conducting FLSA, I-9, and Wage and Hour audits, and providing guidance on emerging employment topics.
Mr. Delaney earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida and his juris doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. Mr. Delaney served as the Assistant Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Technology Law and Policy and was awarded the inaugural Dean’s Leadership Award upon graduation. Also during law school, he worked as a Teaching Assistant for legal writing and appellate advocacy and was the Campus Events Coordinator for the Student Ambassador and Recruitment Team.
Outside of the office, he spends his time watching Gator athletics and trying new recipes in the kitchen. Born and raised in St. Augustine, he enjoys spending time with family and friends and traveling.
