Peter Daines is an Associate in the Executive Compensation and Employee Benefits Practice of Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP.
Mr. Daines’ practice concentrates on ERISA and employee benefits.
After growing up in rural Idaho and Utah, Mr. Daines received his undergraduate degree in Law and Constitutional Studies with minors in Mathematics and Sociology at Utah State University in 2013, where he competed on a national-championship winning Speech and Debate Team.
Mr. Daines received a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center in 2017. While pursuing a law degree at Georgetown, Mr. Daines interned for Congress-woman Lois Frankel (Florida’s 21st District), and for Judge Paul F. Friedman (United States District Court for the District of Columbia). Additionally, Mr. Daines worked in tax law and employee benefits as a summer associate at two law firms. Mr. Daines also served as an Executive Editor on Georgetown’s renowned tax law journal, The Tax Lawyer, which is distributed to 20,000 tax lawyers nationwide.
In 2018, Mr. Daines received an additional advanced law degree in taxation from Georgetown University Law Center. Mr. Daines also served as a law clerk for Judge Carolyn P. Chiechi (United States Tax Court).
