Dibyabrata Borah is a Legal Project Manager in the Corporate Practice of Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP and a member of the Firm’s Global Transport Practice.
Dibyabrata, also known as DB, has nearly a decade of experience within the legal industry, working most recently as a project management lead for both client-facing projects and internal process improvement and digital transformation efforts across practices.
DB’s role within the Global Transport Practice involves supporting the delivery of the full matter lifecycle to completion of post-closing activities as well as working alongside attorneys in the execution of these highly demanding document heavy and timebound matters. DB will also be working closely with relevant internal stakeholders to track and manage these matters to optimize profitability, efficiency, and service delivery.
DB has a diverse array of experience having worked in different markets internationally. Prior to joining SGR, DB worked in Hong Kong as a Senior Legal Project Coordinator at Baker McKenzie, where his role involved supporting large multi-jurisdictional projects alongside partners and attorneys to prepare scope, resourcing and budget proposals and consequently tracking progress and reporting on risks and deviations. DB has also managed improvement programmes and led trainings and awareness sessions leading to operational efficiencies within the firm and by identifying opportunities for new service delivery to bring enhanced client experience through project management tools and communications. Prior to his role as a Senior Legal Project Coordinator, he was a Transaction Coordinator for Clifford Chance, Hong Kong.
DB earned his B.A., LL. B (Hons.) from Amity University’s Law School in Noida, India and went on to earn a master’s in project management from the EAE Business School in Madrid, Spain. DB is also a certified Legal Design Professional and has recently been certified as a Legal Process Improvement Professional (LPIP) from the International Project Management Institute (IILPM) in addition to prior certifications such as the Legal Project Management Launchpad certificate from LawVision, a Project Fundamentals Qualification from the Association for Project Management (APM).
