C. Logan Anderson is a Senior Associate in the Global Transport Practice of Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP.
Mr. Anderson’s practice focuses on representing clients in the transportation and financial services industries in connection with a broad array of complex financing and leasing transactions involving commercial aircraft assets, including issuances of asset-backed securities and enhanced equipment trust certificates, cross-border leveraged leasing, and secured and unsecured credit facilities. He has represented private equity firms in evaluating and consummating investments in portfolios of commercial aircraft assets and commercial aircraft-backed debt and equity instruments.
Mr. Anderson has represented clients throughout Latin American in a variety of commercial aviation matters, including one of the largest airlines in Brazil in the restructuring of its entire leased aircraft portfolio of over 100 aircraft, an aircraft manufacturer in corporate finance matters, and a large development bank in various cross-border aircraft financing transactions. Additionally, he spent 6 months working in-house at Embraer S.A. on secondment at its global headquarters in São Paulo, Brazil.
Mr. Anderson has represented aviation and financial services clients in M&A transactions, including the acquisition by a non-U.S. airline of a minority equity interest in a U.S. private jet charter company and its subsidiary, a U.S. certificated air carrier.
Mr. Anderson is a licensed private pilot and serves on the board of directors of Angel Flight Soars, Inc., an Atlanta-based 501(c)(3) whose mission is to serve the community by flying ambulatory patients to distant medical facilities, delivering supplies to disaster areas, and reuniting families during desperate times by leveraging its network of volunteer pilots and their aircraft. In 2017, Angel Flight Soars coordinated 3,431 missions.
Mr. Anderson is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish, and has studied Turkish, Farsi, Arabic, French and Basque with varying degrees of success. He also received an A.B. from Princeton University in Near Eastern Studies with a minor in Portuguese Language and Culture in 2010 and a J.D. from The University of Chicago Law School in 2014.
