SGR Partner Patricia Hill Honored as One of the 2018 Women’s Center of Jacksonville’s “Unsung Sheroes”

ATLANTA (May 16, 2018) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) is pleased to announce that firm Partner Patricia Hill is being honored by the Women’s Center of Jacksonville as one of the 2018 Women’s Center’s “Unsung Sheroes.” Honorees are recognized for making a positive difference in the lives of women in the community by demonstrating professional influence through a combination of career growth, innovation, initiative, and accomplishments. The Women’s Center recognized the “Unsung Sheroes and Heroes” at the 8th Annual Speaker Event: Women, Words & Wisdom on Tuesday, May 15, 2018.

Founded in 1995, the Women’s Center of Jacksonville works to improve the lives of women through advocacy, support, and education. The Women’s Center, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, multi-service resource center with a 16-member Board of Directors and 35 staff members, houses three departments, the Rape Recovery Team, Mental Health Counseling, and Community Education, which provide broad and inclusive programs and services.

A Partner in SGR’s Jacksonville office, Pat Hill is head of the firm’s Labor and Employment Law Practice. Ms. Hill has significant expertise and experience in employment law, encompassing discrimination litigation, employment contracts, affirmative action plans, employee handbooks and policies, terminations, separations, hiring practices, wage and hour issues, unemployment compensation and other aspects of the employer/employee relationship governed by state and federal laws. She regularly counsels clients on compliance issues and dispute avoidance. When litigation becomes necessary, Ms. Hill regularly represents employers in employment litigation matters pending in state and federal courts. She negotiates labor contracts, trains employers in union avoidance and handles unfair labor practice charges and union campaigns. Ms. Hill’s employment law practice also includes extensive experience in litigation matters concerning non-compete and non-solicitation agreements and other state law claims.

Ms. Hill is AV Rated by Martindale-Hubbell and is a Recognized Practitioner for Labor & Employment Law in Chambers USA, 2017-2018. She has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America© for Employment Law; Labor Law — Management, 2011-2018. Ms. Hill is involved in civic organizations throughout Jacksonville including Leadership Jacksonville, The First Coast Manufacturers Association, and the Hubbard House.
