SGR Partner Joyce Klemmer Joins Board of Directors of the Atlanta International Arbitration Society

ATLANTA (January 30, 2017) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) is pleased to announce that Partner Joyce Klemmer has joined the Board of Directors of the Atlanta International Arbitration Society (AtlAS), a non-profit organization that seeks to enhance Atlanta’s stature and position as a venue for the resolution of international disputes. SGR was one of the founding members of AtlAS.

AtlAS works with leaders in government to ensure that Georgia’s legislation is supportive of international arbitration. AtlAS also educates judges, neutrals, lawyers in private practice, corporate counsel and law students regarding the substantive law, practice and culture of international arbitration, as well as civic, business and government leaders regarding the benefits of a vibrant international arbitration center to Atlanta, the State of Georgia, the southeastern United States, and beyond.

A Partner in SGR’s Intellectual Property Practice, Ms. Klemmer regularly authors articles and lectures on Intellectual Property law and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Atlanta Bar Association Intellectual Property Section. She is a past Chair of the Intellectual Property Section of the State Bar of Georgia. Ms. Klemmer received her B.S. degree from Rochester Institute of Technology and is currently a member of the RIT Board of Trustees. She earned her J.D. from the Emory University School of Law and was a member of the Emory Law Review. Ms. Klemmer is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale – Hubbell.

Ms. Klemmer is a registered Mediator and Arbitrator in the State of Georgia. In 2013, she was selected to join the INTA Panel of Neutrals after rigorous review of a large number of qualified applicants.
