Our litigation practice encompasses commercial transactions, lender disputes, real estate, contracts, construction, employment, securities, tax, environmental regulation and other complex business matters.
Traditional contractual disputes handled on behalf of our clients include litigation arising from failed mergers and acquisitions, hostile takeovers, and lender liability laws. Nearly half of SGR’s attorneys specialize in handling complex, commercial litigation matters and our reputation throughout the southeast and elsewhere for excellence, innovation and success speaks for itself. The firm also has extensive appellate experience before both the state and Federal appeals courts.
We represent national banks and financial institutions in litigation involving bankruptcies, pre- and post-foreclosure real estate, the defense of “lender liability” claims, collections on defaulted debt instruments and deposit account disputes. We regularly defend class action litigation involving claims under the federal truth-in-lending statutes, state usury statutes and federal securities laws. We are also well known for our effective handling of employment and tax disputes.

Construction litigation relating to the representation of our clientele includes disputes concerning delays, disruptions, and claims for extra work on high-rise buildings, shopping centers, hospitals, industrial facilities, nuclear power plants and highways.
