Brazil wanted change. Using the rhetoric of the far-right, Jair Bolsonaro, an unconventional politician, delivered change even before taking office. Jair Bolsonaro has been called the “Trump of the Tropics” as there are many parallels in their populist style and policies.  Both are political outsiders, both ignore the conventions of political correctness and both have turbulent relationships with the media.

Dr. Otaviano Canuto, Executive Director at the World Bank Group, and former Brazilian State Secretary for Finance, will share his thoughts on what the future holds for Brazil in the Bolsonaro administration…
