Business Development Coordinator
Job Description
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
To provide support in a business development capacity to department initiatives and programs designed to promote the firm, practices and lawyers and to generate revenue.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate the development of pitch books for use at new business meetings, trade shows, and as leave-behinds
- Assist in the planning and preparation of new business proposals, responses to RFPs, and presentations
- Maintain the attorney biographies and practice group information on the firm’s web site and in hard copy
- Develop and maintain the mailing lists in InterAction for the firm’s e-newsletters, e-alerts, invitations, and other direct marketing pieces
- Create and distribute SGR’s periodic “In the News” internal communication piece
- Assist with market research as it relates to specific market segments, company types and industries
- Serve as the marketing resource for the firm’s InterAction contact database
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a concentration in marketing
- 2-3 years law firm or other professional services marketing experience
- Strong skills and experience with Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and Excel
- Proficient with contact management systems, preferably including InterAction
- Experience with InDesign or similar desktop publishing tools
- Excellent writing skills
- Must be professional and able to earn the confidence and respect of the firm’s lawyers and staff
- Being proactive, detail-oriented and collaborative is a must
- Must possess exceptional attention to quality, detail, accuracy and commitment to internal customer service
REPORTING:
- This position reports directly to the Marketing Manager on a day-to-day basis. The Business Development Coordinator and all Marketing staff ultimately report to the firm’s Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer
- Though there is a direct report structure in the Marketing Department, everyone is expected to work together as a team and provide support to each other when needed and requested
