Hiring Criteria

In hiring, we rely heavily on new law school graduates, although, on occasion, we hire experienced attorneys to fill particular needs. For both associates and summer associates, we seek a high level of academic ability and achievement, strong interpersonal skills, ambition, independence, character and good judgment.

When reviewing resumes to schedule potential interviews, the criteria we apply include belonging to the top 20% of your class, participation in moot court and/or law review or journal, other extracurricular activites and diverse work experinces.

Promising candidates are invited back to our offices to meet with additional partners and associates and to get a better sense of SGR, our people and our practices.
