Ryan A. Varnum

Ryan Varnum is an Associate in the Intellectual Property Practice of Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP.

Mr. Varnum’s legal practice focuses on domestic and foreign patent prosecution.

Mr. Varnum is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Intellectual Property Law Association and the New York State Bar Association, and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Varnum was a Patent Examiner for the United States Patent and Trademark Office where he examined patent applications in the field of coating implements, with particular emphasis in the writing implement and cosmetic applicator arts.

Mr. Varnum received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Binghamton University. He earned his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, where his studies encompassed several fields of intellectual property law and he was awarded the CALI Award for Excellence in Entertainment Law and the Charles and Jane Ortner Prize for Achievement in Entertainment Law.
