Thomas H. Hong
Thomas H. Hong is a partner in the International Section of Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP, and serves as a member of its Executive Committee.
Mr. Hong concentrates his practice on advising a wide variety of clients on corporate, transactional and tax matters, including mergers and acquisitions, cross-border tax structuring, joint ventures, emerging company issues, private placements, venture capital transactions, and international business transactions. He also has extensive experience assisting clients with Hart-Scott-Rodino filings and related transactional antitrust issues.
Mr. Hong has represented multinational corporations and financial investors from across Europe, Asia and Latin American with acquisitions and investments in the United States. He also serves as corporate and transaction counsel to various privately held corporations providing advice on a wide range of legal and business issues.
He is currently a Board Member as well as the immediate past president of the Georgia Asian Pacific American Bar Association. In addition to serving on the firm’s Executive Committee, Mr. Hong also serves as the firm’s Professional Personnel Chairperson.
Mr. Hong received his B.A. degree in political science from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1993. In 1997, he received his J.D. degree from Emory University School of Law.
He is a member of the California and Georgia State Bars.
