Ms. Powell’s practice is primarily focused on general commercial litigation and securities litigation. Ms. Powell represents the Firm’s domestic and international clients in civil matters in federal and state trial and appellate courts throughout the country, prosecuting and defending business-related claims, such as claims for breach of contract, fraud and breach of fiduciary duty. Ms. Powell also has experience in alternative dispute resolution (ADR) procedures.
Ms. Powell received her bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from the University of Tennessee in 1997. In 2002, Ms. Powell received her J.D., with high honors, from Emory University School of Law. While at Emory, she served as Executive Articles Editor of the Emory Law Journal and was elected to the Order of the Coif upon graduation. From 2002-2003, she served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Edward E. Carnes, United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
Ms. Powell is active in SGR’s pro bono program, and she has represented pro bono clients in landlord-tenant disputes and employment-related disputes.
Ms. Powell is admitted to the State Bar of Georgia.
