Paul G. Durdaller

Paul G. Durdaller is a partner in the Commercial and Bankruptcy Law Section at Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP.

He has extensive experience in bankruptcy and workouts, including litigation relating to commercial and business reorganization. He has represented senior management in several bankruptcy cases. His practice also includes litigation concerning commercial transactions, healthcare, real estate, contracts, mortgage fraud, employment and other business related matters. He has represents financial institutions, including Community Banks, commercial lenders, and commercial lessors in bankruptcy cases and in structuring of loan workouts.

He received his B.S.F.S. degree from the school of Foreign Service at Georgetown University in 1979 and his J.D. from the University of Georgia in 1987. Mr. Durdaller served as judicial law clerk to the Honorable Lamar W. Davis, Jr., Chief Bankruptcy Judge for the Southern District of Georgia from June 1987 through June 1989.

In 2007, Mr. Durdaller was recognized as a “Georgia Super Lawyer” in Bankruptcy and Creditor/Debtor Rights Law by Atlanta Magazine and Law & Politics Media, Inc. He is also the recipient of the United States Law Week award, the American Jurisprudence Award for Land Use Planning, the American Jurisprudence Award for Employment Discrimination, and the American Bar Association Award for Employment Discrimination.

Mr. Durdaller’s committee representation includes Tender Loving Care Home Health Care Services, Inc. (Senior Management Committee); First American Health Care of Georgia Inc. (Equity Security Option Holders’ Committee); Allegiant Physician Services, Inc. (Creditors’ Committee); Super Discount Markets, Inc (Cub Foods) (Creditors’ Committee); The Sport Shoe (Creditors’ Committee); Shoebilee, Inc. (Creditors’ Committee); and CT Crew (Creditors’ Committee).

Mr. Durdaller was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 1987. He has lectured at numerous seminars on creditor representation in bankruptcy proceedings. He is a former coordinator for the Norton Institutes on bankruptcy law. Mr. Durdaller is a member of the bankruptcy section of the State Bar of Georgia, and the American Bankruptcy Institute.
