Mr. Vian regularly represents financial institutions in workout, bankruptcy, corporate trust, operations and lending matters. He has extensive experience negotiating workouts and pursuing collections and foreclosures on bank special asset loans. He represents bank corporate trust departments in municipal and corporate finance transactions and the workout and bankruptcy of large defaulted bond issues.
Mr. Vian attended the University of California at Santa Barbara where he received his B.A., with high honors, in 1978. He graduated from Emory University School of Law in 1981, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Emory Law Journal.
Mr. Vian was associated with Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP from 1981 to 1988. From 1988 to 1993 he was employed as general counsel at First American Bank of Georgia, N.A. After the bank sold its branches in 1992, Mr. Vian served as president of the resulting liquidating national banking association.
Mr. Vian is admitted to practice in Georgia and is a member of the Atlanta Bar Association.
