Josie Krause Nackers

Josie Krause Nackers is an associate in the Environmental Section and Sustainability Practice Group of Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP.

Her practice concentrates in Environmental Law, Sustainability Law, and Environmental and Toxic Tort Litigation. Ms. Nackers’ experience includes environmental, toxic tort, products liability, insurance coverage and complex commercial litigation in state and federal court. She also advises clients in transactions involving environmental issues, and in environmental regulatory matters, including state and federal site remediation programs.

Ms. Nackers recently co-authored an article in the prestigious Vermont Journal of Environmental Law. Their article, “Wars Between the States in the 21st Century: Water Law in an Era of Scarcity,” appears in volume 10, issue 2 and is available online here.

Ms. Nackers received her B.A. degree, summa cum laude, in Speech Communication from the University of Georgia, where she participated in the Honors Program. She earned her J.D. degree in 2007 from Emory University, where she was a member of the Moot Court Society.

Ms. Nackers is a member of the Georgia Bar and is admitted to practice before the Georgia Supreme Court, the Georgia Court of Appeals, and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
