Mr. Gaul represents general contractors, subcontractors, and owner/developers through all issues related to the construction process, including pre-construction drafting, review and negotiation of contract documents; providing counsel, and claim resolution assistance during construction; and representation in complex litigation, mediation, and arbitration proceedings post-construction. He has wideranging nation-wide experience with the handling and successful resolution of construction claims, including those for breach of contract, construction/design defect, indemnity, delay, acceleration, termination, and insurance coverage.
Mr. Gaul previously worked for the City of Atlanta in the Law Department as a Senior Assistant City Attorney where he represented the City’s Departments of Watershed Management and Public Works in court and administrative proceedings related to breach of contract, nuisance, defect and bid protest litigation. He also worked as an Assistant Public Defender for the Fulton County Superior Court, representing clients in trial and appellate courts, and clerked for Judge Melvin K. Westmoreland in Fulton County Superior Court.
Mr. Gaul received his B.A. in History from the University of Virginia in 1991. He earned his J.D. degree, with Honors, from Emory University in 1995. Mr. Gaul is a member of the Georgia Bar, the Government Lawyers section of the Georgia Bar and was named a Georgia Super Lawyers-Rising Star in 2007.
