John M. Benton

John Benton is an associate in the Jacksonville office of Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP.

His main area of practice is Real Estate law.

Mr. Benton received his B.S.B.A. degree in Finance from the University of Florida in 1996. He received his J.D. degree from Florida Coastal School of Law, where he was a member of the Law Review. Prior to joining SGR, Mr. Benton practiced commercial litigation, construction law and enforced creditors’ rights through the Florida courts. He maintains his Florida mortgage brokerage license and has extensive experience analyzing and advising clients on purchase and sale agreements, commercial lease negotiations, secured loan transactions, foreclosures, loan restructuring and workout arrangements.

Mr. Benton is a member of the Florida Bar and the Jacksonville Bar Association.
