Mr. Rodgers practices from the Firm’s offices in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Rodgers is a graduate of the University of Maine at Orono, where he received a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Mr. Rodgers is also a graduate of the George Washington University National Law Center where, following a schedule emphasizing intellectual property, he received his J.D. degree.
Mr. Rodgers worked as a patent examiner with the United States Patent and Trademark Office where he examined patent applications in the field of transportation technology with heavy emphasis in the railroad and freight accommodation arts. Since leaving the United States Patent and Trademark Office in 1986, Mr. Rodgers has prepared and prosecuted numerous patent applications and has counseled clients on intellectual property matters in a wide array of technological areas including emission control catalysts, furnace structures, semiconductor wafer production, laser ablation and cleaning systems, plastic molding equipment, polyurethane foam dispensing and product forming equipment, medical equipment (e.g., eye laser treatment systems), space transportation and habitat devices and automotive systems. Mr. Rodgers has also been heavily involved with foreign filing for domestic clients, particularly through use of the Patent Cooperation Treaty for international filing.
Mr. Rodgers is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and is a member of both the Virginia Bar and the District of Columbia Bar.
